Sept 15, 2017 – Welcome to new PhD-students Jan Brammer and Abele Michela!

August 23, 2017 – Third (and last; for the 2016-2017 academic year) research master student successfully defended her thesis today.

August 22, 2017 – Two master students Developmental Psychology and Education (Pedagogische Wetenschappen en Onderwijskunde) successfully finished their thesis.

August 21, 2017 – Submitted a commentary on emergence and modularity in dual-processing together with colleagues Louie Favela and Mary Jean Amon.

August 8, 2017 – Joanneke Weerdmeester (PhD-student that I’m supervising) got her first paper about DEEP accepted at CHI Play.

August 1, 2017 – Welcome to my new PhD-student, Nastasia Griffioen!

June 30, 2017 – Paper on destabilisation patterns in child-therapist conversations got rejected; onwards to resubmit.

March 31, 2017 – Our workshop “Games for Mental Health and Emotional Well-being” got accepted for CHI Play.

March 23-25, 2017 – I will be participating in two symposia at ICPS 2017; the biannual International Convention of Psychological Science

March 9, 2017 – We will be demonstrating DEEP and MindLight at the Netherlands largest annual health convention, Health Valley Event.

February 6, 2017 – Submitted a paper on destabilisation patterns in child-therapist conversations together with colleague Anna Lichtwarck-Aschoff.

February 1, 2017 – Welcome to my new PhD-student, Babet Halberstadt!

November 3-4, 2016 – Our Personalising Psychological Assessment and Interventions Using Interactive Technology Symposium was a great succes.

November 1, 2016 – Presented my work on personalisation of games for emotional and mental health at the annual Games for Health Europe conference.

October 27-30, 2016 – Presented our work on DEEP at the SRCD’s 2016 Special Topic Meeting on Technology and Media in Children’s Development in Irvine, CA.

October 26, 2016 – Attended the Jacobs Foundation pre-conference workshop on Interdisciplinary Collaboration around Kids and Technology in Irvine, CA.

August 28-September 1, 2016 – Our work on ambiguous perception will be presented by  Jürgen Kornmeier at the European Conference on Visual Perception in Barcelona, Spain.

August 10-13, 2016 – Our paper on a Nonlinear Dynamical Systems Approach to decision making, will be presented by Louie Favela at the Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society in Philadelphia, PA.

August 10-13, 2016 – Work on ambiguous perception that I did together with Jürgen Kornmeier and Harald Atmanspacher during a month-long visit to Freiburg, Germany, will also be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society in Philadelphia, PA.

July 29, 2016 – My master student Liesbeth van de Berg’s s pilot study on DEEP got accepted for presentation at the upcoming Games for Health Europe 2016 conference in Amsterdam.

January 5, 2016 – Submitted a proposal to the NWO Innovational Research Incentives Scheme about the study of a game for mental health and development of new methodology to detect individual change profiles among players.

October 15-23, 2015 – Ten days of data collection at Cinekid’s Medialab of kids playing the VR biofeedback game DEEP (developed by Owen Harris & Niki Smit) to see if it could potentially be beneficial in a therapeutic context for anxious kids.
